Following last year?s focus on ?Latin American Art?, Art Paris 2020 booth is composed of three emerging Peruvian artists: Daniel BARCLAY, José Luis MARTINAT and Carmen REÁTEGUI.
In this group show, Peru becomes an object of reflection in its own right, in search of meaning. Dealing with both the challenges of postcolonial economic development with the key food element that constitutes the «potato» (Carmen REÁTEGUI), the colour and the void in geometric art (Daniel BARCLAY), as well as discursive and political representation through textiles (José Luis MARTINAT), these artists offer in a playful, symbolic and ironic way a reflexive vision of their country, and the possibility of going beyond their millennial culture to reinvent themselves otherwise.
